VENUS™ Bass Traps — 12" Deep, Pair
The deepest trap in the Studiofoam line, for rooms with a real low-end problem.
Two 24" × 48" × 12" Studiofoam bass traps — 16 square feet of coverage. At a full foot deep, these reach further down the frequency range than any standard wall panel.
What this fixes
Bass is the one problem you can't fix with thin panels. Low frequencies build up at room boundaries and in corners, and the result is a subwoofer that sounds boomy in one seat and thin in the next, plus explosions and film scores that turn to mush instead of hitting clean.
Absorption depth is what determines how low a trap can work. At 12" deep with an NRC of 1.30, Venus traps are built for the rooms where 2" panels have already been tried and the low end still isn't right.

Mounting
Recommended adhesives are Foamtak™, Tubetak Pro™, or EZ-Stick Pro™ tabs. These are foam products — they mount with adhesive, not with the impaling clips used for fabric-wrapped fiberglass panels.
Fire rating — read this before you buy
This is a foam product and is not Class A rated. If you need a documented Class A fire rating per ASTM E-84 — which is typical for commercial installs and for some finished basements subject to inspection — look at the fiberglass ProPanel line instead.
Auralex foam products are fire retardant and/or self-extinguishing to varying extents, but no guarantee is made that they meet the building code in your area, and local codes are not applied uniformly. Check with your local fire marshal or building inspector before purchasing or installing. Third-party fire test reports are available for many products — just ask.
