SheetBlok™ Sound Barrier — Limp-Mass Vinyl
This is soundproofing, not room treatment. Different problem, different product.
A dense, limp-mass vinyl membrane that goes inside a wall, ceiling, or floor assembly to stop sound passing through it. 1/8" thick, roughly 1 lb per square foot, STC 26. Available in 4' × 10' (40 sq ft) and 4' × 30' (120 sq ft) rolls.
What this fixes — and what it doesn't
Acoustic panels make a room sound better. SheetBlok stops sound escaping it. If your problem is that the movie wakes the kids upstairs or annoys a neighbor, panels will not help you and this will.
It works by adding mass to the wall assembly. Sound has to move that mass to get through, and limp vinyl is very hard to move. It's most effective as one layer in a multi-layer build — pair it with decoupling (resilient clips and hat channel) and acoustical sealant at the perimeter for a real isolation system.
Note that this is a construction material. It goes in the wall while the wall is open — it is not a retrofit you staple over finished drywall.

Fire rating — read this before you buy
SheetBlok passes test MVSS-302. That is not the same as a Class A ASTM E-84 rating.
Auralex products are fire retardant and/or self-extinguishing to varying extents, but no guarantee is made that any product meets the building code in your area, and local codes are not applied uniformly by inspectors. For a commercial application, only consider products with a documented fire rating against a specific standard, and confirm which standards your inspector accepts before you buy. Third-party fire test reports are available — just ask.

Before you order
Measure the full assembly, not just the wall face. Mass barrier only works where it's continuous — gaps at the perimeter, around outlets, and at seams will undo it. Budget acoustical sealant into the same order.
